1 Day Boiler Operator Awareness (BOAS Precursor)

This course has been designed as a precursor to the 5 day Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) but can also be used as a stand-alone introduction to steam.

This one day boiler course is designed to introduce new boiler users to steam boilers and give an overview of all of
the processes involved. The course is also suitable for more experienced personnel looking to refine their
understanding and formalise any procedures and ask advice.

Course Content:
The course is made up of a half day classroom based training, followed by a tour of the boiler house and
demonstration of the boiler operation. The candidates are then given a short assessment followed by a Q&A
session on the assessment content.

  2. Hands on Demonstration
    – Boilerhouse walk through
    – Gauge glass blowdown procedure
    – Evaporation test procedure
    – Discussion on water treatment
